Hike the park
Our venue is 7 miles from the park entrance and passes through the town of Springdale.
The National park is a MUST visit place if you come to Southern Utah. Its soaring red cliffs and peaceful river are incredible. There are several World Class Hikes in the National Park.
There is a free shuttle bus that runs the length of Springdale. We highly recommend using this service if you want to go into the park or explore Springdale as parking in town fills up very quickly on weekends. Both of our room block hotels are on the shuttle path. Hotel De Novo is stop 9, and the Springhill Suites is stop 6.
There is a fee to enter the park: $35 per car and $20 per walk in person. We suggest getting an Annual National Park pass if you don’t already have one. It’s $80 and is good for a year. The NP Pass covers the cost of 1 car or 4 walk in’s. You can purchase this at the gate.
Then you have the rest of the year to access all the other parks for free!
Once inside the park, there is a shuttle that leaves from the Main Gate that is included in your admission fee. The shuttle is the only way to access the Zion Park Road to get to the major hikes.
The Narrows: If you do one hike we would Recommend “The Narrows”. Will has done this hike 5 times and every time it is different as the river changes it every year during its high flow season (that is not October). The essential recommended gear is available to rent at several places in Springdale and at the main entrance. You should check the weather in the surrounding areas the day-of. If there is rain is the area flash flooding is possible its is pretty rare but it can problem in the canyon. This hike is a out and back and has a maximum distance of 5 miles each way (10 miles total) so you can turn around when ever you want.
Angels Landing. PERMIT REQUIRED: It is famous as it is steep. This world famous hike offers some majestic views. But the last 1/4 miles is on a small ridge with massive drops on both sides
PERMITS LOTTERY CAN BE APPLIED FOR IN ADVANCE OR THE DAY BEFORE, permit information in the link below

Observation Point: This hike you can require a drive through park to the West Gate entrance. It can take over an hour round trip if there is traffic in the park, but it’s worth it. It is the highest point in the canyon and the view is stunning. You will possibly need a high clearance vehicle to reach the trail head. If you think you want do this one ask Will for more information about accessing the trail head.
Pa’rus Trail: A paved walking/bike trail that starts from the Visitor Center and goes through the canyon up to the entrance to the shuttle access only road.
After a hike we like to have a pint at Zion Brewing company. They have some really good beers a great food menu and a excellent location right next to the Park entry bridge and right on the river bridge. It’s a fun place to people watch as people come back from The Narrows hike.

Drive the park
You can drive SR9 through the park to the east gate. It is a spectacular drive that snakes up the canyon wall and eventually through a tunnel that was blasted out by the CCC. This is followed by several more miles of stunning views. When you come out of the park entrance there is a Buffalo farm not too much further down.
If climbing steep hills and off road driving is not your thing, but you want to experience the stunning cliffs and canyon, you can just ride the Zion park shuttle. Ride it out to stop 9 (Temple of Sinawava) and back to the gate. There is a relatively easy hike there called River walk - it is paved and takes you along the edge of the Virgin River and to the beginning of The Narrows.
